Additionally, the original Tekken was the first PlayStation game to sell over a million units, and Tekken 2 sold over 250,000 on its first day, a record at the time. The game then became one of the system’s flagship titles and the franchise would soon become a staple with all other future PlayStation systems, with the exception of one Game Boy Advance release, Tekken Advance. The Tekken series began life on arcade machines in 1994 with Tekken, which was then brought over to the PlayStation in 1995.
